Christmas Cookies

Every year I enjoy making at least one batch of cut-out sugar cookies.  They always turn out so pretty and most of all I love decorating them!   I don’t think I will have time to make them this year, but this is photo from last years batch that I thought I would share!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Frosting:

2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk
food coloring

Cookie Directions:

Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder & salt. Cover and chill for at least one hour or overnight. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutters into desired shapes. Bake 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees.

Frosting Directions:

Mix all 3 ingredients together and color with food coloring if desired. Pour into ziplock bag and cut a tiny slit in one corner to slowly decorate baked & cooled.

**Also, be sure to watch that oven timer, I remember having a few “crunchy cookies” from that batch.
